Hoagland enters her first season on the Amherst coaching staff after a decorated playing career at the University of Texas. One of the most accomplished position players in school history, she earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) first-team All-American accolades as a senior in 2013.
A four-time first-team All-Big 12 pick (2010-13), she also garnered recognition on the NFCA All-Central region team on four occassions. One of the most prolific offensive players in school history, she finished with the most career walks in program and Big 12 history (178), and is third all-time in the conference and first in Texas history with 58 career home runs. Hoagland ranks in the top three in career batting average, on-base percentage, runs batted in and stolen bases. During her tenure she helped Texas to a pair of NCAA Regional appearances, one Super Regional berth and in her senior campaign guided the Longhorns to their first Women's College World Series since 2006.
The Flower Mound, Texas native also spent the last three summers playing for the USA National Softball Team. In the Mayors Cup and Pan American games, Hoagland hit .476 with 17 RBI and three home runs. Hoagland won silver medals in both the 2013 World Cup and Canadian Open, while helping Team USA win gold at both the 2013 Mayors Cup and 2011 World Cup.
Hoagland earned her bachelor's degree in corporate communications with a concentration in business foundations from the University of Texas in 2013.
